Featured Story
Mimosa was a few weeks old when he was found all alone. After a few rough weeks at a shelter, he was adopted and he then tested positive for FeLV when we he was around 2 months old. After testing positive on the SNAP test, his PCR test came back negative. After months of fighting of a variety of illnesses, the vets were feeling good about him being able to fight off the FeLV. At 6 months old, he tested negative on both the SNAP and PCR test. Mimosa fought hard, and was so very fortunate to be able too fight off the virus.

Initial Results
When we first got the positive test results back we were so incredibly sad and filled with grief. We had not idea what we were going to do. We had another cat, and so we were so worried about her as well. Everything we thought we knew about the future with our kitten has changed. We had no idea what to do or how to handle it. It was scary and sad and we felt so incredibly lost. I remember my husband calling me and telling me and I just couldn't' even believe it. We just looked at that kitty and hoped there was something that could be done. The one recommendation I have is to find a good vet. Someone who is kind and caring, but also is knowledgeable about Feline Leukemia Virus and allows you to ask as many questions.

Next Steps
I was so sad when my kitten tested positive and it was hard to know what the next step is. It didn't really feel like anyone knew what the next step should be. I had a lot of feelings of hopelessness after fidning out.
